Arrival in Florence
Welcome to Florence! Upon arrival, your private driver meets you at the airport exit gate and transfers you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip.
Day 2 Florence Mon, Oct 27
Florence Sightseeing with Michelangelo’s David
After breakfast, at your hotel you meet with your private guide and go on a comprehensive walking tour of Florence’s highlights.
Today’s program includes exploration of the Piazza del Duomo with a visit to the Baptistery dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
As you proceed to the main square of the city – Piazza della Signoria – you pass through the heart of the historical center with its landmark sites like Piazza della Repubblica and the Strozzi Palace. Stroll down via Tornabuoni, one of the most beautiful streets of the city, famous for its fine shops.
During the tour we also visit the Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s famous colossal statue of David, a must-see in Florence.
After the tour your guide takes you back to your hotel and enjoy an evening at your own leisure.
Day 4 FlorenceTue, Oct 28
Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens Walking Tour
Meet your private guide at the hotel lobby and step into the Renaissance era on this private walking tour.
Explore Pitti Palace, the former Medici residence since the 16th century, and discover its Palatine Gallery with works by Raphael, Titian, Rubens, and more.
Then, wander through the historic Boboli Gardens with its hidden limestone caves and 16th-century architectural marvels by Buontalenti.
After the tour we return to your hotel and enjoy an evening at your own leisure.
Day 5 Florence Wed, Oct 29
Departure to Cinque Terre
Today in the morning you check-out from the hotel and we depart from Florence.
Pick-up from the hotel is included.
Arrival to Monterosso
Upon arrival to Monterosso you check-in to the hotel and have afternoon at leisure.
Day 6 Monterosso al Mare Thu, Oct 30
Tour of Cinque Terre
In the hotel lobby meet your guide and embark on a fascinating full day-trip along Cinque Terre to visit the most remarkable little towns.
We take a short train ride to the village Vernazza, which has a natural pier with an amphitheater shape making it perhaps the most picturesque village of the Cinque Terre. Vernazza was a Roman installation and had big strategical importance during the age of the Maritime Republics of Genoa. It was also famous for its carpenters.
Arrive in beautiful and the oldest village Manarola surrounded by wineries. During the tour you explore local sights and of course you see the Church of San Lorenzo dating back to 1338 and afterwards you travel back to Monterosso hotel by train.
Day 7 Monterosso al Mare Fri, Oct 31
Departure to Tuscany via Siena & San Gimignano
Following breakfast in your hotel, you check out and we depart from Florence to the Tuscany countryside.
Pick-up from the hotel is included.
The first destination on your route today is San Gimignano where you have some free time for independent sightseeing.
Often called the town of towers as it is home to 14 well-preserved towers from the medieval times. These towers vary in height and form the international identity of the town. San Gimignano boasts many churches, such as the Collegiata and the Sant’Agostino. Moreover, the heart of the town contains 4 Piazzas – Cisterna, Duomo, Pecori and Erbe.
Then you continue to Siena, Italy’s loveliest medieval city. During a 3-hour walking tour with a local guide, you visit all the major sights including the Cathedral of the Duomo, which houses the works of artists like Nicola Pisano, Ghirlandaio, Ghiberti, Donatello and Jacopo della Quercia. You then see the Piazza del Campo – a shell-shaped structure, which is also a major attraction famous for hosting horse races.
After the tour you continue the trip to the countryside farmhouse villa accommodation.
Arrival to Tuscan Villa
Upon arrival, you have a transfer to the countryside Tuscan villa and the rest of the day is at your own leisure.
Day 8 Tuscany Sat, Nov 01
Visit of Pienza & Cheese Farm Tour
Your driver-guide meets you at your hotel and takes you to Pienza, the area known for the wonderful Pecorino di Pienza cheese, which gets its name from the word pecora, Italian for “sheep”. This delicious “sheep” cheese is made exclusively in and around the town of Pienza from sheep’s milk.
In the beginning, you have a tour of the historical center of Pienza, included into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You enjoy the views of wonderful Renaissance Palazzo Piccolomini, the beautiful Cathedral of Pienza and Palazzo Comunale.
You are then driven to a gorgeous rustic organic cheese farm that sits on top of a hill overlooking the entire Val d’Orcia and even Pienza itself. Here the local cheese producer shows you how the pecorino sheep cheese is made and the many stages of aging from soft and fresh to hard and complex.
After the tour you are transferred back to your hotel.
Day 9 Tuscany Sun, Nov 02
Tuscan Wineries Exploration
Meet your private guide and driver at the hotel and start a full-day tour to local wineries.
Today you travel to the area of San Miniato where you visit a biodynamic winery and small family-run winery, famous for very original wines.
Enjoy panoramic views over vineyards when having lunch on the terrace and be amazed by delicious Tuscan specialties.
Following the tour you are taken back to your accommodation.
Day 10 Tuscany Mon, Nov 03
Day-trip to Trip to Assisi
Meet your private driver at the hotel lobby and embark on a day trip to Assisi. In about 2 hours you arrive in a town of Saint Francis and meet your local guide.
Together in about 3 hours, you walk in Saint Rufino’s district, visit Saint Claire Basilica and have a stop by Minerva temple on the Piazza del Comune. The highlight of the day is a visit of Saint Francis Basilica.
We have 2 more stops: one in a small city perched on a rock cliff in Umbria called Orvieto and another in a hilltop village Civita di Bagnoregio.
Following the tour we return back to our accommodation.
*Note: guided tours inside churches are not allowed on Sundays, visits without guidance are possible. Civita di Bagnoregio is located on a hill and requires physical activity.
Day 11 Tuscany, Tue Nov 04
Departure Home
Today after breakfast you check-out from the hotel and have a transfer to the airport for your departure flight home.
Pick-up form the hotel is included.
