Venafro -Walk through the historic center with remains of Roman structures walled in modern dwellings (inscriptions, sculptures, architectural elements) and arrive at the church Annunziata, which represents one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in Molise. You will arrive at the Archaeological Museum of Santa Chiara with the precious early medieval collection of San Vincenzo al Volturno and the wonderful Roman Venus that represents one of the most beautiful symbols of the city.
Visit the DI SANTO oil mill.

Day 3 September 25: MOLISE -San Vincenzo Castle, a land of monks and the MIDDLE AGES
San Vincenzo Castle
One of the most important abbeys in Europe dating back to the time of Emperor Charlemagne.
MORNING
With the help of a guide, you will visit the ruins of the churches, refectory, kitchens, the guest quarters and the 9th-century major Basilica. At the end, access will be gained to the crypt of Epiphanius, a place of great suggestion and deep mysticism where are preserved the frescoes of one of the most important pictorial cycles of the entire early Middle Ages related to the figure of the Madonna.

Dating back to the 12th century, however, is the so-called “New Abbey” where even today, in continuity with the Middle Ages, operates a community of Bendettine nuns who will welcome us for a greeting.
Visit to the medieval village of Castel San Vincenzo, the lake, the museum of Apennine fauna and the small museum of ancient objects.

Day 4 September 26: MOLISE – ROCCHETTA AND SCAPOLI Between bagpipers and the second world war.
Morning
Rocchetta a Volturno – The ancient village was built in the 10th century by the nearby abbey of San Vincenzoal Volturno. Today that village shows itself as a museum of a 19th-century society with houses, portals, typical furnishings of the period. Rocchetta is also the site of the largest river in all of southern Italy, the Volturno. A river dense with history that has seen the birth and development on its banks of factories, villages, towns and commercial activities.
The territory is also the place where, during World War II, the CIL was born-, Italian Liberation Corps, and to this we owe the birth of the International Museum of the World Wars. It represents one of the largest museums in Italy by number of exhibits, dedicated to the first and World War II.

Scapoli – Also of great emotional impact is Scapoli. a small community where the last artisan makers and players of bagpipes that for centuries have accompanied with their sound and their melodies to the Holy Christmas. Inside the alleys it is also possible to admire the museum that today houses a large collection of instruments from all over the world and you will visit the workshop of a craftsman who will delight your stay with ancient music.

Day 5 September 27: MOLISE – AGNONE City of Bells and Caciocavalli (cheese)
Morning
Agnone
A settlement of Lombard origin and a major center of craft activities beginning in the 12th century with the presence of artists and craftsmen from Veneto who came in the wake of the Borrello family, great leaders who had fought alongside the doge of Venice.
Prominent among these artisans was the Marinelli family, founder and owner of the thousand-year-old bell foundry, which since 1924, with Pius XI, was affixed with the Papal Coat of Arms. The Marinelli family’s activity is one of the oldest and their bells, produced the same way they were a thousand years ago, are distributed all over the world.
Even today in Agnone there are numerous other artisanal activities leant to the past and to dominate the scene are the dairies whose product of excellence is the caciocavallo cheese.
Agnone is also famous for the dairy production of cheeses and in particular of caciocavalli among the best in Italy. You will visit a farm with tasting and a visit to the museum.
Lunch- tasting of “Pallotte” cheese and eggs.
Afternoon – walk through the village to visit the copper artisan shops, and a honey production company in the village of Pescolanciano.

Day 6 September 28: Larino
Larino
The ancient Larinum, a Roman municipality, extended over a large fertile area that overlooked the valley floor of the lower course of the Biferno river. It was also located at the center of important roads that allowed its rapid development thanks to the numerous and profitable commercial exchanges. Visit to the forum, the amphitheater, the baths, the domus.
In Larino, an oil production company of the famous and excellent variety of extra virgin olive oil “Gentile di Larino” will be visited. The entire production chain will be shown with a visit to the olive grove, a description of the harvesting techniques, a visit to the oil mill and the packaging laboratory. Followed by the tasting of oil with organic products grown in the garden of the owners of the company.

Day 7 September 29: CAMPANIA-POMPEII The Roman city and the eruption of 79 AD.
Pompeii is one of the most visited archaeological sites in the world. You will visit the Roman city covered by the ashes of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You will learn about the life of the Romans of that era, through the streets, fountains, houses, baths, and taverns. You will visit the Forum, the Temple of Apollo, the great Amphitheater, the oldest stone building ever discovered, the site of bloody battles between gladiators, and the marvelous Casa del Fauno, an ancient villa of over 3,000 square meters that represents one of the most ancient and majestic residences in the city.
Also worth visiting is the antiquaries of Pompeii built as early as 1873 where exhibits from the daily life of Pompeii’s inhabitants show us the customs of two thousand years ago. Wonderful frescoes, silverware, the triclinium of the house of Menander or the treasure of amulets in the House with theGarden. Also displayed here are the plasters of the victims of the terrible eruption.

Day 8: September 30: CAMPANIA – CASERTA The largest and most elegant palace in Europe.
Caserta – The ‘Little Versailles of the Kingdom of Naples’ last great jewel of the Baroque built at the turn of the eighteenth century and Nineteenth century at the behest of the royal family of Bourbon of Naples and designed by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli.
Large, imposing, extraordinary in its beauty and richness so much so that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an unmissable destination for anyone visiting Italy and Campania. The itinerary includes the monumental Royal Palace with the Halls of the Halberdiers and that of the Bodyguards, Alexander and Mars, the Hall of Astrea, the Throne Room, and the Council Room. Beyond of course, to the eighteenth and nineteenth century apartments, to the Library Palatine, the beautiful hall of the Nativity Scene, the Royal Staircase, the Vestibule, and the famous Palatine Chapel. The Garden Park of the Royal Palace is wonderful, one of the most beautiful in Europe with panoramic views, water features, waterfalls and cascades, sculptures, caves, and monumental fountains.

Sightseeing Tour of Catania
Following breakfast meet your private guide and embark on a walking tour of the city which sits at the foot of Mount Etna, a highest and active volcano of Europe.
Together with your guide, you see the most of the city highlights including Roman theatre, Catania Duomo and a whimsical Fontana dell’Elefante statue which is considered to be the symbol of the city.

Day 14 October 6: Mt Etna & Local Vineyard Tour
Today we set-off for yet another exciting day trip. Go on a road-trip to Sicily’s main attraction – Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe.
Your driver takes you to an access point – the Rifugio Sapienza on the southern slope located 2,000 meters (6562 feet) above sea level.
On the way down you also visit a local winery and taste local Etna wine and light lunch.
Following the tour we return back to Catania.

Day 15 October 7: Travel to Agrigento via Villa Romana del Casale
Following breakfast in your hotel, you check out and depart from Syracuse to Agrigento.
In about 2 hours after your departure from Syracuse, you have a stop to see the hidden gem of Sicily near a town Piazza Armerina. Here you visit* the famous Villa Romana del Casale a UNESCO Site especially noteworthy for the richness and quality of the mosaics.
Following a visit, you continue the trip to arrive in Agrigento.

Day 16 October 8: Valley of the Temples & Scala dei Turchi Cliffs
Today after a delicious breakfast at the hotel you explore famous Agrigento sights and its surroundings in 4 hours.
Your exploration begins with a 2-hour guided tour of one of the two highlights of the city – the splendid Valley of the Temples. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site where you visit the near-intact Temple of Concord, the best-preserved temple in the World and one of the symbols of Sicily.
In the second part of the tour you enjoy a trip with your private driver to the seaside to see the famous Scala dei Turchi Cliffs. The dazzling chalky white rocky cliff eroded conveniently into stairs rising 50 meters above sea level. This natural phenomenon so-called “Stairs of the Turks” allows for easy walking. Its gleaming color is eye-catching enough, but what makes it even more remarkable is that it looks like a staircase carved by man even though its shape is entirely natural. After the tour you return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Day 17 October 9: Realmonte Salt Mine & Transfer to Palermo
Following breakfast at your hotel, you check out and depart from Agrigento.
Our first stop today – Realmonte Salt Mine. Sicily dresses in white and glitters, those reflected in the sun by the rock salt crystals extracted in the Realmonte salt mine. The same one that shapes the marvelous salt cathedral unique in the world of its kind.
In the rock salt mine, a salt is extracted for cooking with excellent properties recognized throughout the world. in addition to rock salt, kainite is also extracted here among its 25 kilometers of tunnels. The mine is also known for a particularity that makes it unique, inside it houses a cathedral but not a normal one, but a real Salt Cathedral.
After the tour we continue to Palermo.

Arrival in Palermo & Guided City Tour
Welcome to Palermo – the stunning capital of Sicily. Upon arrival, your driver transfers you to the hotel for check-in.
Today you meet with your private guide to enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Palermo.
The capital of Sicily – Palermo – has been a crossroads for cultures and civilizations for 8 millennia. Together with your private guide, you visit the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel.
Then you walk along Villa Bonanno to the Cathedral in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, just to admire the exterior; continue along Vittorio Emanuele to the imposing Four Corners. Then on to the Tuscan fountain in Piazza Pretoria and just behind it see two splendid Arabo-Norman churches, La Martorana and San Cataldo. After the tour, you return to the hotel. You have the rest of the day free to enjoy Palermo on your own.

Day 18 October 10: Tour to Segesta and Erice
Meet with your private guide-driver and embark on a day tour to the Segesta, with its best-preserved Doric Temple, and the unforgettable medieval hilltop town of Erice.
Segesta once has been the most important regional town and trading center, and now it treasures two Classical monuments which you visit: the Temple of Segesta and the Greek theatre.
Then you proceed to Erice, a wonderfully preserved town offering the most breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Together with your guide you discover the city’s treasures. Erice boasts 60 churches, some dating back to the early 1300’s, and two incredible castles, Pepoli Castle and Venus Castle. During the tour of Erice you visit the Chiesa Matrice church.
One more highlight today is a visit to the local pasticceria for a tasting of the famous cannoli, Sicilian cassata, almond pastries and other delicious culinary masterpieces. This unique pasticceria is famous for its traditions and amazing taste of its sweets all around Italy and even beyond.
